As a Riverside, CA senior photographer, I have the privilege of capturing some of the most special moments in my clients' lives, and Ashleen's college senior session was no exception! Ashleen, a proud member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, was graduating from college with several impressive accomplishments, represented by the many stoles she proudly wore in her photos. From academic honors to sorority life, Ashleen's session was all about celebrating her hard work and achievements.
When planning Ashleen's Riverside senior portraits, she wanted to focus on the fun and creative ways to showcase her cap and gown. Senior portraits aren’t just about the traditional shots anymore—there are so many unique ways to tell a story through these milestone images!
Fun and Creative Cap & Gown Poses
We started by incorporating her cap and gown in classic ways, but soon we explored more creative options. Ashleen looked stunning as we captured her throwing her cap high into the air with a huge smile, symbolizing the excitement of graduation day! In another set, we placed her stoles across her shoulders as she proudly turned around to show them off while looking back at the camera. We also had fun with shots of her walking away with the gown flowing in the wind and a confident look in her eyes, representing her bright future ahead.
One of my favorite shots from Ashleen's Riverside senior photos was her standing in front of the UCR Belltower, holding her hand high in the air while smiling towards the camera. The rich history and beautiful architecture of the UCR provided the perfect backdrop for this memorable moment. UCR offers so many beautiful locations, and this was one of the most striking.
In addition to the cap and gown, Ashleen brought along her stoles from various organizations and clubs she had been a part of. We arranged them in several different ways, layering them over her gown, draping them over her shoulders, and even holding them up for a special close-up shot. Each stole told a piece of her story, and I loved capturing that!
