Piper's Senior Portraits at Prospect Park | Riverside Senior Photographer

Senior portraits. Riverside, CA. Prospect Park, Redlands.
Some sessions just have a feeling to them from the start. Piper's was one of those.
A Senior Who Showed Up Ready
Piper is a Poly High School senior with roots in two worlds that require a lot of the same thing: showing up fully. She's been dancing since she was a little girl and has been deeply involved with Riverside Children's Theater for years. Confidence isn't something Piper had to find during her session — she walked in with it.
And that's exactly what her portraits show.
From the first outfit to the last frame of golden light, Piper was laughing, joking with her mom, and fully present. She wasn't nervous. She wasn't stiff. She was just herself — and that's what makes senior portraits actually work.
What Made This Session Special
Piper was part of the JPWP Senior Team before her individual session, which meant we weren't strangers when the day came. She already knew what to expect, had been through a shoot before, and showed up prepared and confident. That familiarity shows in the images.
Her outfits were carefully planned ahead of time — a white dress with white boots, a denim skirt with a white blouse, and jeans with a college sweatshirt representing where she's headed next: Sacramento State. Each look was intentional, and each one felt like her.
We shot at Prospect Park in Redlands, California — one of the best locations in the Inland Empire for senior portraits. The mature trees, open fields, and varied backdrops give us so much to work with. And on Piper's session day, the light showed up for us in a big way: a gorgeous sunset streaming through the trees that turned her final looks into something cinematic.
One of the most memorable parts of the session? We set aside time for Piper to do what she does — dance. Full leaps, movement, expression. We incorporated her dance background directly into the shoot, and those images are some of the most authentic in the entire gallery. They're not "posed." They're just Piper.
The Moment That Said It All
At the Image Premiere — where clients come in and see their full curated gallery for the first time on a 70-inch screen — Piper's mom got teary eyed.
That's the moment I work toward with every single session. Not just images on a screen, but a genuine reaction to seeing your senior truly seen. It happens a lot in that room, and it never gets old.

About Senior Portraits at Prospect Park in Redlands, CA
Prospect Park is a beautiful option for seniors in the Redlands, Loma Linda, and greater Inland Empire area. The park offers a range of backdrops — tree-lined paths, open grassy areas, and natural light that catches beautifully in the late afternoon. If you're looking for senior portrait locations in the Redlands or Riverside area, it's consistently one of my favorites.
