Although I try and meet all of my clients for graduate portrait session in person to plan their amazing senior portrait session it is not always possible. In this case, Julie contacted me after seeing the grad photos I took of her friends (here). This means that the first time Julie and I met was for her senior pictures on the UCR campus.

Now, if you don't know already I am a tall man of about 6'3" and well... Julie is a much smaller person (but with a giant spirit). The moments I saw her I knew two things to be true. My back was not going to be happy with this shoot and I am thankful for all of the squats I have done over the years.

As soon as we started chatting, I could tell we were going to have a great time. You can just tell that she is focused but willing to let loose and have a good time. I captured those classic images that grandparents and parents love to have hang on the walls as beautiful prints and then went to work on capturing the images that make for stunning photo albums. We made sure to get to all of the hot spots like the UCR sign, Scotty, the Rivera Library, and even ended at Anderson Hall.

This year I have been bringing my daughter to the portrait sessions as my assistant. You can see in these images that she does a pretty great job of holding the rim light and aiming my main light when needed. It's those little touches that also really help us to capture these great images.

Congratulations to Julie on her graduation! I think if you can thrive while finishing your senior year during a global pandemic and you can still show-up to document this milestone you are going to be ready to take on whatever adventure is yet to come!
