Custom senior photo sessions in the Inland Empire designed to tell the whole story.
When this senior’s mom reached out, she asked about a 20-minute Petite Session. “Just a few quick shots,” she said. One outfit. In and out.
They weren’t alone in that thinking — many families with senior boys assume a full portrait session isn’t really necessary. And honestly? I get it. Senior portraits are often marketed in a way that feels more geared toward girls.
But after one simple conversation, their perspective shifted. And the story that unfolded was one worth capturing.
The Question That Changed Everything
Instead of focusing on how much time we wouldn’t need, I asked a different question:What has your son spent his high school years investing in?
Turns out, the answer was: quite a lot.
He’s a serious musician. An athlete. He wears his Letterman’s jacket with pride. He’s earned his place on the tennis court and in the orchestra pit. This wasn’t just a quick photo op. This was the closing chapter of a story years in the making.
A Custom Senior Photo Session That Told the Story
That original 20-minute plan? It wasn’t going to cut it anymore. But I also understood they weren’t looking for a marathon session either. So we landed in the middle — a custom one-hour shoot designed to give him space to show all sides of who he is.
He arrived in a tailored blue suit, confident and sharp
Brought his French Horn and filled the space with presence
Threw on his Letterman’s jacket, representing his school journey
Finished strong in his tennis gear, serving the ball right at me for an action shot
And we got it all — not just great portraits, but images that actually mean something.
Senior Portraits for Boys Should Still Feel Like Them
Not every senior wants to pose for hours, and that’s okay. That’s why I take the time to tailor each session to the person in front of the camera — especially when it’s a guy who might not naturally love the spotlight.
Whether it’s music, sports, leadership, or just their everyday vibe, the goal is to create an experience that’s relaxed, natural, and true to who they are.
Here’s what his mom said after seeing the images:
“Thank you so much…we love the photos! There were so many good ones to choose from…thank you for taking the time to make this session very special and memorable!”
